Coronavirus: UK now 'seeing a second wave coming in'

UK reported to be considering fresh lockdown after new cases almost double to 6,000 a day.  British Prime Minister Boris Johnson said it was inevitable the country would see a second wave of coronavirus infections and while he did not want a second national lockdown, the government may need to introduce new restrictions.The United Kingdom was reported to be considering whether to impose a new lockdown across the country, after new COVID-19 cases almost doubled to 6,000 a day, hospital admissions rose and infection rates soared across parts of northern England and London."We are now seeing a second wave coming in ... It is absolutely, I'm afraid, inevitable, that we will see it in this country," said Johnson.The sharp rise in the number of cases in the country meant the government needed to keep everything under review and he did not rule out further measures being introduced."I don't want to get into a second national lockdown at all," he said. &

FG Raises Petrol Pump Price to N151.56 per litre

The Petroleum Products Pricing Regulatory Agency has announced a new price band of N151.56 per litre for Premium Motor Spirit also known as petrol.This new development was contained in a memo released by the Pipelines and Product Marketing Company and signed by D.O Abalaka.The Nigerian Government had in March said the pump price of petrol would be determined by market forces, stating that how much Nigerians would pay would be largely determined by the international prices of crude oil.The memo reads, “Please be informed that a new product price adjustment has been effected on our payment platform.“To this end, the price of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) is now one hundred and fifty-one naira, fifty-six kobo (N151.56k) per litre. This takes effect from September 2, 2020.”
