Gunmen Kill 13 Family Members, One Other and 6 injured In Kogi

Gunmen on Wednesday invaded Agbudu community in Koton-Karfe Local Government Area of Kogi State, killing 14 persons with six others injured.The Commissioner of Police in the state, Ede Ayuba, confirmed the attack to journalists in Lokoja, the state capital.According to him, the dead victims include 13 members of the same family and one other person.“Fourteen people were killed and six people were fatally injured. Kogi to establish Science and Technology University,Osara

Following the approval of Governor Yahaya Bello on the bill seeking for the establishment of of the Confluence University of Science and Technology, questions have been asked about where the new university will be situated in Kogi State.Answering the question on the location of the new Confluence University of Science and Technology, Kogi State Commissioner for Information and Communication, Kingsley Fanwo said the new university will be located at Osara in Adavi Local Government Area of Kogi State.Kingsley Fanwo disclosed this while addressing newsmen at the end of the State Executive Council meeting at the Kogi State Government House, Lokoja.The Commissioner noted that the Confluence University of Science and Technology will offer science and technology-based courses with a view to moving the state to the desired developmental level.According to him, the state needed a university that will equip the youths of the state with the requisite knowledge to feed the big industries in the ...

It is not safe to reopen schools now— FG

MINISTER of Education, Adamu Adamu, has said that Nigerian schools will not reopen any time soon until it is safe to do so because of the COVID-19 pandemic.He has therefore said that final year students preparing for the Senior Secondary Certificate Examination (SSCE) will not be allowed to return to school contrary to what had earlier been believed.Addressing State House correspondents after the virtual meeting of the Federal Executive Council (FEC) in Abuja on Wednesday, Adamu stated that the West African Examinations Council (WAEC) cannot determine the resumption date of schools for Nigeria.He said he would prefer that Nigerian students lose an academic year than to expose them to dangers.He appealed to States that have announced the resumption of school in their states to reconsider their position so as not to jeopardize the lives of the students, adding, “It is not safe to reopen schools now."source: Vanguard Nigeria News

Breaking: DSS arrests EFCC chairman, Ibrahim Magu
