NANS PRESIDENT PASSES VOTE OF CONFIDENCE ON KOGI POLY RECTOR FOR ACADEMIC REVOLUTION, RESTORATION OF STUDENTS DIGNITY


The leadership of National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS), has heaped praises on the management of Kogi State Polytechnic, Lokoja, for rapid transformation in the institution.

President of NANS, Comrade Asefon Sunday Dayo gave the commendation on Thursday, 9th of September, 2021 during a courtesy visit to the institution's main campus in Lokoja.

Comrade Asefon Dayo who said that NANS' visit to the Polytechnic was to confirm the news about the positive turn around being witnessed in the institution, lauded the infrastructure and academic renaissance in the institution.

He passed a vote of confidence on the Rector, Dr.  Salisu Ogbo Usman who he said has transformed the learning condition and improved infrastructural status as well as instilled fiscal and administrative discipline in the institution. 

He also stressed that the  effort has restored the confidence of the public in the credibility of the Polytechnic in less than two years of Dr Usman's appointment.

Comrade Asefon commended Governor Yahaya Bello for prioritizing security across the state which is a remarkable difference from other states where schools are being closed due to incessant attacks on students by terrorists and bandits. 

The number one student in Nigeria described Kogi State as a reference point in campus security as schools continue to enjoy uninterrupted academic calendar under tight security.

He urged other states in the country to emulate the passion and commitment of Governor Yahaya Bello in making learning conducive for students, adding that NANS was always ready to support such moves.

In his response, the Rector, Dr. Salisu Ogbo Usman, described the visit of NANS' leadership as historic as it coincided with the anniversary of the commissioning of projects in the institution by Governor Yahaya Bello.

He highlighted the progresses achieved in quality assurance, learning, infrastructure, security, fiscal transparency, which he said would not have been possible without the support and freedom granted by His Excellency, Alhaji Yahaya Adoza Bello.

He described Governor Bello as an exceptional leader who is passionate about development.

Dr Usman added that the security and quality assurance reforms introduced into the system has helped in curbing insecurity and also improved quality of teaching and learning, making the institution one of the best in the country.
