World Menstrual Hygiene Day: ANFS educates female students in Kogi on menstrual hygiene, distribute sanitary pads

The Association of Nigeria Female Students Kogi state chapter, today June 2nd commemorated the World Menstrual Hygiene day with a parley with secondary school students across Kogi State.

State Coordinator of the Association, Comr Jimoh Saidat Oziohu, said the visit was to enlighten young female students across the three senatorial districts of the state on the importance of menstrual hygiene and the need for personal cleanliness. The students were lectured on how to use pads and the proper ways to dispose them,after which sanitary pads were distributed to students.
Comr. Saidat commended Governor Yahaya Bello and his chief of staff, Pharmacist Abdulkareem Jamiu Asuku for supporting the association with monthly subvention which was the means of financing the project. She also called on the general public to be supportive of girl child education and end stigmatization of women in the society.

Schools visited by the association included: Our Lady of School, Anyigba, Community Commercial College, Iyale road in Kogi East Senatorial District. Government Day Secondary School Onoziomi, Government Girls Secondary School, Otutu in Kogi Central ; St Monica College Kabba, and St Barnabas College Kabba in Kogi West.
