DECLARATION OF INTENT TO CONTEST FOR PRESIDENT, ASSOCIATION OF NIGERIA FEMALE STUDENTS ANFS NATIONAL SECRETARIAT

All praise and thanks are due to Allah, the lord of the universe, who gave me the opportunity, Courage and privilege, to declare my interest and join the race of Association of Nigeria Female Students  General Election.

Dear respective colleagues, and Ladies-in-waiting  , I am Comr. Princess Omoniyi A. (aluta Lioness), a student of Federal College of Education Okene.

It is with special pleasure, honor and a deep sense of humility that I express my intention to aspire for Association of Nigeria Female Students National  President to represent the female Students across the globe.

Mahatma Gandhi once said;
_”Men often become what they believe themselves to be. If I believe I cannot do something, it makes me incapable of doing it. But when I believe I can, then I acquire the ability to do it even if I didn’t have it in the beginning.”_
In lieu of this, I strongly believe with my experience so far in student unionism as well as the school of thought and political principle I believe in, I will serve the union selflessly without prejudice.

WHY NATIONAL PRESIDENT OF ANFS?

This position is one of the most important offices in the Association Female Students  as the President is primarily responsible for safeguarding the academic interests and personal welfare female Students across the globe as well as ensuring that the Association is acting in a way which promotes the academic interests of the female Students .

Furthermore, I strongly believe that the welfare of students is key to attaining academic excellence. It is therefore imperative for students to elect someone who understands their interests and who is committed to safeguarding such interests. I am therefore seeking your support and votes even as I offer myself to you in the capacity of being your servant.

WHAT DO I SEEK TO ACHIEVE IF ELECTED?

•  To Anticipate and respond to student’s needs and demands to ensure
continuous improvements.

• To promote constructive relationship between female students and the wider community.

• To represent the interest of female students and the Union at all levels.

• To ensure that all the Union’s programmes are centred on promoting the culture of equality, diversity and inclusion.

• To consistently and relentlessly represent the views and interests of all students especially as it concerns their education and welfare before the Nation.

• To promptly respond to complaints or challenges faced by students in their academic pursuit.

I want to be remembered as a student president who pursued the wishes of the students and accomplished many great things. I will be willing to do anything within my power to achieve this as the students are my main concern.

According to Harvey Firestone ‘the growth and development of people is the highest calling of leadership’. Your growth and development as a student is dependent on your Education and Welfare, I want to use this medium to seek for the supports of all students, student leaders and stakeholders in all faculty of my intention to contest for the office of the president of our great union.

I also solicit for your support for the office of the president because of my conviction that it requires an able, experienced and competent hand to move the union forward.

Once again, I Comr Princess Omoniyi A. (Aluta lioness) hereby declare my interest to contest for National PRESIDENT in the forthcoming ANFS National Convention.

Unionism is not a person’s idea but a collective idea. i believe collectively, we can break new grounds and take Nass to the next level In sha Allah.

May God guide us on that path,  I thank you all for your time and keen attention for reading this.

Long live ANFS
Long live Nigeria Female Students
Long live the Federal Republic Of Nigeria.

Yours in Struggle
CDE Princess Omoniyi A.
