hours of 'Monday' January 16 has left many
Nigerians in total fear and sadness.

The explosion left many people dead
with others sustaining different degrees
of injury. Professor Aliyu Mani, the
head of the veterinary teaching hospital
was part of the people that died in the
gruesome event.
The news of the bomb blast left
thousands of Nigerians petrified; there
are so many unspoken words and
thoughts over the incident. It is beyond
shocking to know that the educational
system is starting to fail with the attack
made on the citadel of learning in

The National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) have said giving the biting and excruciating hardship Nigerian Students, their parents and indeed majority of Nigerians are going through, it will not condone any appearances or semblance of fee increment from any tertiary institution, not to talk of a fee increment proper. In a statement signed by NANS National Assistant Secretary General (ASG), Comr. Omede Sunday, who said, "the attention of NANS have been drawn to a rumour of a plan to increase school and or accommodation fees by the management of tertiary institutions in Nigeria". "Should this rumor be true, we call on such tertiary institutions to think again and drop the idea. However, should tertiary institutions be inconsiderate to the plight of suffering Nigerians and go head to make any such increment, NANS will not hesitate to mobilize Nigerian Students to a mother of all protests and shut down any such institution".
